The Marie Curie Scholars Program offers significant scholarship support and enrichment opportunities for women pursuing science and math degrees at College of Saint Mary. Designed to foster academic achievement, research engagement, and professional growth, this program helps prepare scholars for advanced study and STEM careers.

Pursue Your Passion in
Biology, Chemistry, & Mathematics
The Marie Curie Scholars Program provides high-achieving women in STEM fields with substantial financial assistance, mentorship, and community support. Scholars receive funding to help cover educational costs while engaging in research experiences, leadership development, and professional networking.
This program also fosters academic excellence and confidence through faculty guidance, seminars, and opportunities to attend conferences, preparing graduates for competitive graduate programs and impactful STEM careers.

The Marie Curie Scholars Program combines substantial financial support with academic enrichment to help women thrive in science and mathematics fields.
- Up to $20,000 per year in scholarship funding
- Renewable for up to four years with continued eligibility
- Available to full-time students in approved science and math majors
- Includes faculty mentorship and research opportunities
- Access to seminars, networking, and professional development experiences
- Participation in a supportive sisterhood of women who are passionate about science and making an impact in STEM fields
- Up to seven new scholars are chosen each year
Application & Award Process
Follow the steps below to apply for the Marie Curie Scholars Program. Completing each requirement carefully and on time ensures your application is eligible for review and consideration.
Begin by applying for admission to College of Saint Mary and selecting an eligible science or math major, including biology, chemistry, or mathematics. Programs outside of designated majors do not qualify for the Marie Curie Scholars Program.
Additional eligibility requirements to consider before applying for this program:
- Must be accepted into College of Saint Mary
- Student must declare a science major in Biology, Chemistry, or Mathematics
- Student must live on campus when enrolled
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Specific majors not eligible: pre-OTD, pre-physician assistant, and physician assistant studies programs
The first step for the process is to file your FAFSA at fafsa.gov.

After being accepted to CSM, log in to the scholarship portal using your application credentials to complete the Marie Curie Scholars application.
We want to learn about what inspired your interest in STEM, your future goals, and the ways you learn best.
- Please tell us about the academic or personal experiences over the last four years that inspired your interest in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM).
- What are your career goals after graduation from college?
- What makes you excited about this field?
- What moments, classes, people, or activities helped shape your goals for college and your future career or graduate school plans?
- What strategies, environments, or experiences best support your learning and personal growth?
- Additionally, explain how living and learning on campus, surrounded by peers who share your academic and personal interests, could enhance your classroom experience, research opportunities, and participation in campus life.
Format: Times New Roman Font, Size 12, Double Spaced and minimum of 500 words.
Once we have received all documents, you will be required to participate in a virtual interview by CSM’s Director of the Marie Curie Scholars Program. When your application is complete, someone from admissions will schedule the required interview for selected applicants.
