Transfer Students
Whether you’re transferring from a community college or another university, we help you make the most of the credits you’ve already earned. Our admissions team is here to help guide you through every step of the process.
Finish Your Degree at CSM
Students who have completed 12 or more college credit hours after graduating high school are considered transfer students. To apply as a transfer student, you will need to submit the following:
- Completed CSM application
- Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
- High school transcript
Grades below a C (2.0) are not eligible for transfer credit, and credit evaluations are based on course content, accreditation, and relevance to your program. Our admissions team will review your transcripts and help determine how your credits apply toward your degree.
Campus Visit
Transfer students receive a free CSM crossbody bag just for visiting campus.

How to Apply
Applying to College of Saint Mary as a transfer student is a straightforward process designed to help you continue your education without unnecessary delays.
Before starting your application, collect the academic records needed to complete the admissions process. This typically includes transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended, as well as your high school transcript if requested.
Having these materials ready will help ensure your application can be reviewed as quickly as possible and will allow the admissions team to begin evaluating how your previous coursework may apply toward your degree.
Complete the College of Saint Mary online application to begin the transfer admissions process. The application gathers basic information about your academic history, educational goals, and program interests.
Most students can complete the application in a short amount of time. After submitting, you will receive information about the next steps and how to submit any additional materials needed to complete your application.
Request official transcripts from every college or university you have attended. These transcripts allow the admissions team to review your academic background and determine how your previous coursework may transfer toward your degree at CSM.
Transcripts can usually be sent electronically through your previous institution or mailed directly to the CSM Admissions Office. Submitting transcripts early helps speed up the credit evaluation process.
Once all required materials have been received, the admissions team will review your application and academic records. During this process, they evaluate your coursework, determine which credits may transfer, and ensure you meet the admission requirements for your program.
After the review is complete, you will receive a decision along with guidance on next steps, including financial aid, registration, and preparing to begin your studies at College of Saint Mary.
