Honors Program
The Walk Tall Honors Program brings together curious, motivated students who want to challenge themselves academically and make a meaningful impact in the world. Rooted in the Mercy tradition, the program encourages students to seek wisdom, think deeply, and lead with compassion.
Walk Tall Scholars
Through small seminars, community engagement, and cultural experiences, Walk Tall Scholars expand their worldview while strengthening the skills needed to lead in their professions and communities.
Honors Program Curriculum
Students complete a series of honors learning experiences while pursuing their major.
First-Year Honors Seminar
Students begin with an Honors section of CORE 101: Leading with Mercy, exploring leadership and Mercy values with fellow honors scholars.
Honors Coursework
Students complete four additional honors courses that explore interdisciplinary topics and encourage critical inquiry.
Community Engagement
Students participate in events, cultural experiences, and service opportunities that connect learning to the wider world helping students think critically, act compassionately, and lead in a diverse world.
Recognition
Completing the Walk Tall Honors Program is a mark of academic excellence and leadership. Students who complete the program:
- Have participation noted on their official transcript
- Receive an Honors medallion to wear at graduation
- Earn an Honors certificate
